Abstract:
To address the issues of excessive dense medium consumption and low efficiency of the recovery and purification system at Zhengtong Coal Preparation Plant, a comprehensive analysis was performed on the operating status of each link in the dense medium recovery system. The core problems and their underlying causes were identified, including insufficient processing capacity of the fine coal circuit, high medium carryover in products from drain-and-rinse screens, high medium loss in magnetic separator tailings, and high slime content in the qualified medium suspension. A series of multi-link collaborative technical retrofit measures were implemented, including reducing the raw coal classification size from 13 mm to 10 mm, optimizing the fixed screen structures and spray systems of drain-and-rinse screens, ensuring spray water clarity, adjusting magnetic separator parameters and installing additional equipment, improving the pre-wetting of lump coal and desliming of fine coal, recovering lost medium, and strengthening medium consumption management. These measures enabled systematic optimization of the dense medium recovery and purification system. Production practice demonstrates that after the retrofit, the comprehensive medium consumption was stabilized at approximately 0.5 kg/t, annual cost savings reached
2.9975 million yuan, and production stability was significantly improved. These multi-link collaborative optimization measures can fundamentally resolve the problem of excessive medium consumption in dense medium coal preparation plants. The retrofit concepts and implementation methods provide practical references for medium consumption control in similar dense medium coal preparation plants processing power coal, and hold important application value for cost reduction and efficiency improvement in the industry.
