Abstract: According to the problem of high consumption of medium in production system in Dawukou preparation plant,analyzed the feed and product of dense medium cyclone and magnetic separator,as well as the situation of medium entrained in the clean coal and middlings in the A and B separation system.The result shows that the medium loss by entraining in refuse up to 0.78 kg/t in dense medium separation system,and the medium entrained in tailings of magnetic separator up to 1.454 kg/t in medium recovery system,which accounted 52.11% of total medium consumption,thus concluded that the main reason of medium losing is medium entrained in slime tailings.To solve the problem,the plant taken the measures in aspects of management,process,using new technology and equipment,finally the medium consumption in Dawukou preparation plant successfully reduced to 1.5-2.0 kg/t.
