Abstract
Following an introduction to the structural design, working principle and technical features of the vision recognition-based online flotation tailing ash monitor, the paper goes to analyze the effects obtained in application of the monitor at Jiangzhuang Mine Coal Preparation Plant. Result of analysis shows that the value and ash of tailings assume a positive correlation and the mean relative error between the predicted and analytical ash values is 4.20% with a mean absolute error of 2.48%. It is proved the monitor can play a guiding role in flotation process and its use can greatly ease the labor intensity of both operating and service personnel. Moreover, it can perform the function of early warning of escape of coarser tailing particles to guard against loss of flotation concentrate.
