    Analysis of the benefits obtained through realizing dynamic speed control of long belt conveyor

    • In order to reduce energy consumption in operation of belt conveyor,an image recognition based belt conveyor dynamic speed-regulating system is developed based on the result of analysis of the factors attributing to the high consumption of energy. The system has found successful application at Halagou Coal Mine. An analysis is made in the paper,by way of example,of the power consumption data of the Mine’s 104#belt conveyor for conveying each ton of coal before and after its realization of dynamic speed control. Comparison shows that under dynamic speed control,the long-distance belt conveyor can operate with drastically reduced power consumption per ton of coal conveyed,much reduced wear loss and higher efficiency.
