Abstract
Following an introduction to the principle of vibration of the double-mass vibrational-discharge centrifuge,the paper goes to elaborate on the design of the springs for use on the WZYT 1500 horizontal vibrational-discharge centrifuge based on the study of the performance of the springs used on the WZYT1500 version. The studies made involve the effects on rigidity of spring produced by such factors as shear,positive pressure,temperature and dynamic stiffness,and the laws of their variation. Finally,an analysis is made of the performance of the spring designed using finite-element method. As evidenced by test made with the spring on the WZYT 1600 double-mass horizontal vibrational-discharge centrifuge which runs either individually or under load-up condition,the method for the design of the spring for use on such a kind of centrifuge is feasible. This may provide the basis and direction for realizing optimum design of series springs.
