A study on the 3-product coal slime flotation process

Tunlan Coal Washery is facing the trouble of being unable to lay equal stress on both quality and yield of flotation concentrate at the same time. A 3-product flotation process is therefore proposed,and the feasibility and necessity of the use of the proposed process are verified through both theoretical analysis and experimental study. With the use of the process,there can be seen not only elimination of contamination of concentrate by high-ash fine slime,loss of low-ash coarse coal particles in tailings,increase of concentrate yield to a maximum,but also optimization of product mix,and enhancement of coal resources utilization efficiency. Moreover,the product specifications are rendered easier to control. The study made in the paper may serve as a reference for design of slime flotation process.
