An introduction is made in the paper to the methods for determining the head loss along the total length drainage pipe and the local head loss of the piping system in calculation of the pumping head,with the mine water drainage operation at a coal mine cited by way of example.This provides a useful reference for the design or selection of water pump for mine water drainage system.
