Abstract
In order to tackle the problems encountered in flotation operation due to overstability of flotation froth,timed-release experiment is conducted to determine the stability of froth through quantitative analysis of the percentage of coal particles adhered onto froth.Result of experiment indicates that with the use of kerosene as collector, the froth stability is lower than in the case of using light diesel oil as collector. As evidenced by bath flotation test at Linxi Coal Preparation Plant, with the use of either kerosene or light diesel oil or a mixture of both in varying proportions,no distinct difference in flotation performance can be observed-a fact which may serve as a reference for reducing stability of froth in flotation operation.
